Not long to go until the Museum of the Vernacular<\/em>\u2019s latest exploration of Aotearoa\u2019s cultural identity opens<\/strong>! LOUNGE<\/em> hosts vernacular landscapes from Nigel Brown, Don Binney, Dean Buchanan, Amy Pyle, Sally Lush<\/strong> and many more.<\/p>\n Alongside the Vernacular Landscape<\/strong> exhibition is a lounge installation<\/strong> \u2013 reminisce about your childhood holidays, your mum\u2019s old lounge suite or grandma\u2019s scones. Our DIY installation<\/strong> will also get underway during the course of the week with a little help from our friends at Mitre 10<\/a>. Thanks!<\/p>\n As if this wasn\u2019t enough to get the emotions stirred about what it means to you to be a New Zealander, Peace Space<\/em><\/strong> is also in the Museum of the Vernacular<\/em>. Peace Space<\/em> is dedicated to celebrating peace as a major part of our culture with an emphasis on Nuclear Free NZ<\/strong> for the duration of Lounge<\/em>. There will be works from VAANA (Visual Artists Against Nuclear Arms) artists Miriam Cameron, Pat Hanly and Nigel Brown<\/strong> as well as The Peace Foundation<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s secondary school Nuclear Free NZ poster competition entries and Mahurangi Montessori Primary\u2019s paintings inspired and signed by Nigel Brown himself.<\/p>\n
