Hiroshima and Nagasaki Commemoration this Sunday in the Auckland Domain

peace craneYou are warmly invited to attend a Candle Floating Ceremony to remember those who died at Hiroshima and Nagasaki as a result of the atomic bombs dropped on their cities at the end of the Second World War.
Each year we pause to commemorate this occasion and to continue our work for peace, which the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF) has been pursuing for the last 98 years.
WILPF members will be speaking about the present situation regarding nuclear testing and particularly about what is happening in the Pacific.
There will also be an opportunity for others to speak.

The commemoration will be held at the Auckland Domain Winter gardens from 5-7pm this Sunday August 11
