The Sound of Seeing

Gary Mutton is an example of an artist who flies under the radar despite having a significant influence in film making and poetry since before the 1960’s.

This Art New Zealand article talks of New Zealand’s diverse film traditions and the Museum of the Vernacular whole heartedly agrees when they say “It is also urgent that the experimental work of the last twenty years should be rescued from obscurity.” So here is our little rescue mission, a film unlike anything made before it, The Sound Of Seeing from 1963 by Tony Williams featuring Gary Mutton.
