Sausages and Prawns yum yum

vernThe Museum of the Vernacular is bringing you ‘Pot Luck’ during Auckland Art Festival in March 2013. It will be a visually delicious feast exploring the distinctive kiwi culinary culture.

Pot Luck will taste test what cuisine really means to us as a nation. Hangi? Pavlova? BBQ-ed lamb? Fresh fish? Lolly cake? Grandma’s baking from the Edmonds cookbook? Annabel Langbein’s latest creation?

Pot Luck will run simultaneously with Conspicuous Consumption, a group show at the Depot also on during Auckland Art Festival. Conspicuous Consumption is a degustation of artistic interpretations about the meaning of food and people’s relationships to it – social, historical, cultural, emotional, sensory and symbolic.

We’ll invite you to more officially to Pot Luck closer to the time but this is just to whet the appetite!
