The Vernacular Lounge is back in action!

The Vernacular Lounge is back! At the Depot in Clarence Street we have a cosy little lounge as part of the Museum of the Vernacular where you can sink into the comfy couches and revel in the collection of books lent by the lovely Anna Forsyth. (thank you Anna!) Peruse the art work by Don Binney and Betty Curnow (among others) and mull over Tony Watkins’s idea of the Vernacular: “belonging in one place, knowing your own stories, realizing your own potential. Being yourself rather than trying to be someone else.” What great advice Tony! I have a good mind to spend the rest of the afternoon on the couch flicking through Landfall magazines and just being myself…
